Idea Factory is working with a studio to create a theatrical anime film adaptation of its romance suspense visual novel, Collar x Malice.
A terrorist attack leaves you with a deadly souvenir, a poisoned collar that will kill you at any moment. As your time begins to run out, five mysterious strangers come to your aid in your quest to find how to rid yourself of the collar, and who placed it on you.
The anime film is set to debut in 2023, Otomate released a teaser PV for the film.

Collar x Malice is an Otome visual novel released in 2016 available globally on PSVita and Nintendo Switch. The game follows a rookie police officer, Ichika Hoshino caught by an unknown group, with a poisonous collar placed around her neck. As she begins to uncover the machinations of the group “Adonis” that are behind the scenes, she is met by Aiji Yanagi, Kei Okazaki, Mineo Enomoto, Takeru Sasazuka, and Kageyuki Shiraishi, each from different branches of the police force or ex-officers, all looking to help you uncover the mystery behind the X-Day Incident.
