The official website for the anime adaptation of Megumi no Daigo Kyūkoku no Orange released a new teaser officially confirming the series is being adapted as a TV anime, and will be arriving in Fall 2023.
The anime’s being worked by Hitomi Tsuruta and Koji Yabuno on character design, with Shinzo Fujita in charge of series composition. Masahiko Murata is directing the series at Brains Base. Kyukoku no Orange is a sequel to the original Megumi no Daigo and features all-new characters working to join Japan’s Special Rescue Team “Orange”, as they take on a national crisis engulfing the country in flames.
The website also released images of three of the series’ key characters including, Shun Onoda, Daigo Toake, and Yuki Nakamura, all three played by Taku Yashiro, Junya Enoki, and Ayane Sakura respectively. The three can be seen pictured below from left to right.
▍About Megumi no Daigo
Megumi No Daigo/FireFighter Daigo is a manga series written and illustrated by Masahito Soda and began its serialization from 1995 to 1999. The series was adapted into a Japanese tv drama and received a sequel in October 2020 called Kyūkoku no Orange.
The series follows the story of three aspiring firefighters, Shun Onoda who struggles to face his own demons after a tragedy, Yuki Nakamura working on becoming one of the few special female members of the fire brigade, and Daigo Toake, an outstanding young man with relentless determination and seemingly endless talent. Together the three work their way to join team Orange, a special rescue team for Japan’s fire brigade as they tackle a national crisis that’s beginning to unfold in Japan.
