Aniplex announced today that the upcoming split-screen 2D side-scrolling RPG World II World will launch for iOS and Android devices on February 22 in Japan. The mobile project collaborating with Japanese indie game developer DeskWorks! is set in three duo worlds, in which the player’s actions in one world will affect the other one. Pre-download of the game is available now.
The game also confirms a collaboration with manga artist Akioco, who will serialize a special manga featuring World II World’s characters in SD form on its official Twitter.
World II World is currently celebrating its pre-registration reaching 250,000 milestones, which means players will receive 20x gacha pulls, a free set of accessories for a full team, and a free 4-Star character at launch. A 5-star is also guaranteed when the pre-registration reaches 300,000. Pre-registration can be done via the official site.

The story of World II World is set in three divided worlds, which are on the brink of collapse under the attack of a mysterious enemy. Players will follow the adventure of the six protagonists, who try to stop their worlds from destruction.
The 2D sidescrolling game will split your mobile screen into two, where you can enjoy different stories unfolding simultaneously on the upper and lower screens. According to a showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2022, World II World has also prepared a lot of gimmicks making use of the two split-screen features.
For instance, if you launch a rocket at the lower screen, the rocket will fly above and assists the battles on the upper screen. The game will also require you to use both hands to do simple actions at the same time on the two screens. This system may sound familiar on the DS, but it will be the first of its kind in mobile games.
