Announced in December 2022, it’s finally time. The 6th 2023 issue of Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Evening marks the final issue of the publication after it was launched monthly beginning in 2001.
The magazine series has been published twice a month from 2003 onwards on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month, and with this issue that all comes to an end as the magazine has been suspended. The latest issue came with a special one-shot of the manga series “You’re Being Summoned, Azazel” which ended its original run in 2018.
This final issue also includes a special one-shot for Daiju Yanauchi’s Gang King manga series, which began its original run in Evening back in 2003, and stuck with the magazine through its nearly 18-year run. All of the remaining works that were published in Evening will be transferred to different publications, with several series being transferred to Kodansha’s web mangs service Comic Days, and some being moved to Kodansha’s Morning manga magazine.

Beginning its first issue in 2001, Evening was a bi-weekly manga magazine printed in the B5 format for young adults and was sold for 380 yen initially.
Evening was the manga publication for much popular manga series, including Garoden which was illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki who worked on the Baki series, Battle Angel Alita: Last Order by Yukito Kishiro,m Inyukashiki by Hiroya Oku, Deathtopia by Yamada and Yamada Yoshinobu, and Raw Hero by Akira Hiramoto.
