Happy Tomato, a Taiwanese game developer, announced Utopia No.8, a new social MMORPG that will launch for PC via Steam, Android, and iOS. The game also enters early access on PC in November 2023.
Developed using Unreal Engine, Utopia No.8 is set in a distant future where humans explore the universe for resources. As a young adventurer embarks on an adventure to build a comfortable and healing dream home, you will make friends from all over the world.
According to the roadmap, the project started in February 2022 and will carry out an Alpha Test in June 2023. Early access to the game will be available in November 2023. The game will launch softly in 2024, with its final release in 2025 and more content and updates from 2026 onwards.

One of the game’s highlights is its versatile character customization, which allows players to create a unique and cute character by adjusting their hairstyles, hair color, face shape, skin tone, eyebrow color, lip color, height, and weight according to their preferences and style.
Users can also choose their race and age, and if they match certain requirements, they can unlock special behavior animations. Players can design and create their own accessories and clothing, with thousands of appearance combinations available and dye kits to create endless possibilities.
Utopia No.8 will also feature audio and video chats, as well as thematic rooms for interactive chat. Players can connect with others all over the world via audio and video chat, sing karaoke, share fashion tips, play board games, or engage in various challenges in different game rooms. Those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, can simply listen to music and stay chill in the bar.
The game includes farming and animal breeding facilities, horticulture, fishing, logging, mining, and cooking systems, as well as the ability to raise and take care of pets called PIYAs, which are intimate pals and adorable helpers.
Utopia No.8 offers players creative possibilities that are limitless, with special items granting bonuses when crafted using exploration and adventure scripts, as well as farm resources and elements collected by PIYA. Players can build their dream home on a piece of land and enjoy practical details-filled furniture, host tea parties, and park their spacecraft or hoverboard at the door, and can also run shops, create amusement parks, villas, and resorts, and become entertainment overlords.
