The upcoming smartphone game Magical Destroyers Kai has streamed a new promotional video featuring nostalgic old-fashioned animation to introduce its magical worldview. The animated PV also previews the game’s theme song “Rebellion” (リベリオン) by voice actress and one of the cast members, Sumire Uesaka.
Staying true to one of the project’s concepts to “respect the otaku culture,” the trailer has invited known CGI director Hiroyasu Kobayashi (Evangelion movie series) to supervise the animation. Hiroshi Konishi is credited as the animation director and Studio Q is the production studio.
Based on the multimedia project Mahō Shōjo Magical Destroyers by underground art and music creator Jun Inagawa, Magical Destroyers Kai is a “break down the walls of the world with the power of love” action RPG that is set to release for mobile in 2023. Though little has been revealed for the gameplay, the game will share the same worldview as the television anime that coming next month.
The game’s official site has also updated the character design of three new magical girls that will make appearances in-game.

▍About Magical Destroyers Kai
Set in a dystopic near future where otaku culture in Japan has been obliterated by a mysterious organization known as “SSC”, Mahō Shōjo Magical Destroyers follows the misadventures of Otaku Hero—a young revolutionary who loves otaku culture—and Anarchy, Blue and Pink, a trio of magical girls who admire him. Together they struggle to create “a world where you can say what you like about what you like as much as you like.”
Magical Destroyers Kai will include different challenges including fighting off the monsters of the series. Aside from the adventure mode, players can also team up with other players to take on the game’s different challenges. The voice actors of the anime characters will reprise their roles in the game.

Players can now pre-register for the game by following the official Twitter/ LINE or on Google Play and App Store. A total of 3,000 orbs will be presented to all players when it reaches 100,000 pre-registrations.
