Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is releasing its final piece of downloadable content, in the Expansion Pass Vol.4 Future Redeemed DLC, coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 25.
The DLC is set before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and this time you’ll be playing as a cast of new and familiar characters in an original story scenario that bridges the gap between all three Xenoblade Chronicles games. This DLC also adds a new function called Unity combos, which lets two characters attack together in unison. A trailer was also released, previewing the return of Shulk and Rex, and the somber tone this DLC’s ending could have.

▍Pyra and Mythra Amiibo 2-pack
Alongside the DLC’s trailer, Nintendo announced that the Amiibo 2-pack figures featuring Pyra and Mythra are coming on July 21. Players that scan these Amiibos while playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 can change the appearance of Noah’s Swordfighter class to make Pyra’s Aegis sword, and the Mythra amiibo can change Noah’s Swordfighter class to make Mythra’s Aegis sword colors
If you don’t want to purchase either of these figures though, you can still unlock the weapon skins by meeting certain conditions after a future patch.
Nintendo also announced that Noah and Mio will also be receiving Amiibos coming soon, though the release date wasn’t announced.
▍About Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed is the final DLC chapter of the game. The DLC’s story and trailer show a young man named Matthew reaching for his grandfather before he gets stabbed by a man who appears to be N, the main antagonist of the main game before a picture flashes of Noh and Mio with their child.
The DLC’s story will feature Matthew as the new main protagonist as he’s joined by series veteran Shulk and Rex from the past titles, alongside new characters A, Nikol, and Glimmer.
The DLC comes with a new combat system called Unity, which lets two characters combine attacks into a new powerful flashy attack. In the trailer Nikol is seen attacking with Glimmer, creating an attack called Hellstream that envelops the enemy in fire and lightning.
