Revolutionary Girl Utena (少女革命ウテナ) creator and director Kunihiko Ikuhara (幾原 邦彦) has returned to work after a two-year hiatus. His last work is Yurikuma Arashi aired in early 2015.
Yuri!!! on ICE animation studio MAPPA put up a recruitment post on its website today (15th August). The title says Director Yurikuma Arashi is recruiting staff for his project.
Not much about the new anime has been revealed. It is said that the director will explain more in the extra print of Eureka magazine’s September issue.
Kunihiko Ikuhara was first famous for directing the TV anime version of Sailor Moon. Then he created his own franchise, Revolutionary Girl Utena, in 1997 and even directed the TV anime adaption. Since then, he has been directing mostly Yuri anime.
