Natsu-Mon! 20th Century Summer Vacation Launches for Switch on July 28 in Japan

Millenium Kitchen and Toy Box’s summer vacation simulator Natsu-Mon! 20th Century Summer Vacation will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on July 28, 2023 in Japan.

Publisher Spike Chunsoft also revealed a new trailer on its Youtube Channel, featuring the game’s theme song “Funny Bunny”. The original 1999 track by Japanese alternative rock band, the pillows gets a revamp and is now performed by Yōko Honna.

The company also announced that actor Naohito Fujiki takes the role of the narrator for the 10-year-old protagonist, reminiscing as an adult about his childhood summer vacation throughout various parts of the game.

The game is the latest title by Kaz Ayabe of Millennium Kitchen, who is known for creating multiple nostalgic summer vacation and childhood-themed games, “Boku no Natsuyasumi” (My Summer Vacation) that was initially released on the PlayStation 1 in 2000. Natsu-Mon! puts players in the role of a 10-year-old boy as he enjoys a special summer vacation in the verdant countryside by the sea.

In Natsu-Mon! 20th Century Summer Vacation, Players will be able to experience a full 30-day summer vacation in the Japanese countryside, where players can catch fish, spot bugs, chat with the residents, and dance at the local festivities.

Eschewing the fixed camera angle, and preloaded stylings of its predecessor title, Natsu-Mon instead opts for a fully realized 3D open-world format where players will be able to wander the map and move the camera freely as they see fit.
