Kurokata’s The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic fantasy light-novel series, which has sold a total of 2.83 million copies in print and digitally, will receive a TV anime adaptation in 2024. Alongside the announcement, the staff, a teaser visual, and a teaser trailer were also revealed.
The story revolves around high school student Ken Usato, who is suddenly drawn into a different world with two other people, both of whom are summoned as heroes. Despite his lack of notable abilities, Usato is surprised to find that they treat him kindly. However, his hope quickly shatters as he discovers that he possesses a hidden magical talent and is subjected to intense training. In this new world, Usato must navigate the challenges and dangers of being a healing magic user while uncovering the truth behind his summoning.
Written by Kurokata and illustrated by KeG, the light novel series was serialized online in March 2014 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō before being acquired by Media Factory. A manga adaptation illustrated by Reki Kugayama has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine since April 2017.
Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation will collaborate to produce the anime, with direction by Takahide Ogata, series composition by Shogo Yasukawa, and character design by Keiji Tanabe.
