It has been announced that Megumi Morino’s A Condition Called Love romance manga will receive a TV anime adaptation in 2024 in Japan. Along with the announcement, a teaser visual and a commemorative illustration by the original author were also unveiled.
A Condition Called Love is a riveting love story between high school student Hotaru Hinase and the enigmatic, handsome Saki Hananoi. The story starts when Hananoi, who would do anything for the girl he likes, confesses his love to Hotaru after a casual act of sharing an umbrella. This unexpected confession sparks their “trial period” relationship and sets the story in motion.
First serialized in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in December 2017, the manga series boasts a total of 3.8 million copies in circulation, including digital copies. It also gained significant recognition in 2021 when it won the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards in the shoujo category. The manga’s 13th volume will publish on June 13.
The heartwarming released teaser visual depicts Hananoi-kun, adorned with a gentle smile, and Hotaru leaping into his arms. Megumi Morino has shared a commemorative illustration and comments. The illustration puts the words “Congratulations on the animation!” featuring Hotaru and Hananoi-kun looking at each other and smiling.
The author expresses her joy and anticipation about the anime adaptation in her comments, “It seems that ‘A Condition Called Love’ will become an anime. I am truly grateful to everyone involved in the ongoing project and each reader who has supported the original work. I am looking forward to seeing Hananoi-kun and the others move, talk, and fall in love just as much as everyone else, and I wait with bated breath.”
