Manga Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story (るろうに剣心 -明治剣客浪漫譚-) officially returns after 18 years of absence. The new Hokkaido arc started yesterday (5th September) in the October issue of Jump Square.
Hokkaido arc is a sequel to the main plot. 5 years after Jinchu Arc, Myojin Yahiko stays at Hokkaido to train. A worried Himura Kenshin therefore sets out to look for him. Ashitaro Hasegawa, Sagara Sanosuke, Shinomori Aoshi, Saito Hajime, Nagakura Shinpachi and Seta Sojiro will all appear in this storyline.
Written by Nobuhiro Watsuki (和月 伸宏) and serialised between 1994 and 1999, the story centres on Himura Kenshin, a swordsman who seeks atonement for the murders he committed in the Bakumatsu period. It has also got an TV anime series running from 1996 to 1998 as well as three live action movies. A new live action movie is rumoured to be in production.
