Your Name’s animation studio CoMix Wave is making a new anime movie Shiki Oriori (詩季織々) in homage to 5 Centimeters per Second. The anime trailer is out today.
Shiki Oriori is a joint project between CoMix Wave and Shanghai-based studio Haoliners Animation League. It consists of three short stories: Hidamari no Choshoku (Lit: Sunshine Breakfast), Chiisana Fashion Show (Lit: Small Fashion Show), Shanghai Koi (Lit: Shanghai Romance).
The movie will arrive in 2018 Summer.
▍Hidamari no choshoku
Directed by Zhenxing Yi, the plot revolves around a young man working in Beijing. He used to live with his grandma in his less developed hometown Hunan. While he is drown in his childhood reminiscence, he receives an unexpected call – Grandma is in critical condition.
▍Chiisana Fashion Show
Directed by Yoshitaka Takeuchi, this short story revolves around family quarrel. Two orphans sisters in Guangzhou grow up to be a fashion model and a vocational school student. As they get more and more problems in daily life, a gap is gradually formed between them.
▍Shanghai Koi
Directed by Haoling Li, Shanghai Koi is a young romance story set in 90s’ Shanghai. A man has been in love with his childhood friend since he was little, but he never confessed to her. Now that they are grown up and they don’t see each other anymore, a certain thing suddenly reminds him of her.
