In July last year, TV anime series KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! (この素晴らしい世界に祝福を！) announced a mysterious project in a radio show. The big reveal was made yesterday, and it is actually an anime movie!
The reveal does not include anything concrete. The most notable detail must be having J.C. Staff replace Studio Deen for production, but director Takaomi Kanasaki and many of the important staff members stay for their original role.
Originally a light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki (暁なつめ), the story revolves around Kazuma Sato, a teenager who gets reincarnated into a MMORPG world after his death. The first anime series aired in January 2016. The huge popularity has prompted the sequel to air not much later – January 2017.
