Girls und Panzer director Tsutomu Mizushima has joined hands with Shirobako screenwriter Michiko Yokote to launch an original multimedia project – Koya no Kotobuki Hikotai (荒野のコトブキ飛行隊). A TV anime and a mobile game are already in the plan.
▍TV Anime
Koya no Kotobuki Hikotai focuses on six girls who are pilots of combat air force Kotobuki Hikotai. The team includes protagonist Kirie (CV: Sayumi Suzushiro), Kate (CV: Sayaka Nakaya), Emma (CV: Eri Yukimura), Zara (CV: Hibiku Yamamura), Reona (CV: Asami Seto), and Chika (CV: Miyu Tomita). Aircrafts featured in the show, such as Nakajima Aircraft Company’s Hayabusa, are strictly designed according to their real-life counterparts.
Koya no Kotobuki Hikotai is in production at Gemba studio and set for release in January 2019.

▍Mobile Game
Koya no Kotobuki Hikotai will also have a mobile game made by Bandai Namco and scheduled for release in Winter 2019 (January – February). Except for the title – Koya no Kotobuki Hikotai: Ozora no Takeoff Girls! (荒野のコトブキ飛行隊大空のテイクオフガールズ！), not much is known at the moment. Pre-registration is already open.
