The game boasts full 3D graphics with mesmerizing CG cut-scenes to bring the world setting and story to life. Auto-mode is available in battles and you can enjoy the 3D animation by unleashing the character skills. ★ Editor’s Comment: There’s something about this game that makes keeps you playing. The game’s graphics aren’t exactly what you would consider incredible, nor is the gameplay something that’s really fun and addicting, yet once you start playing the game, all the little details like the semi-auto battle system really captivate you. Being able to control your main character to a certain degree makes the more challenging stages of the game quite satisfying to clear. ▍OverviewIt is a CCG developed by The Epic of Hero developer, cloverlab. Similar to any other CCG, you’ll form a deck of 30 cards and engage in a 1 vs 1 combat. By placing the card on the board, you can summon minions or unleashing special skills to give yourself advantages in combat. You can also unleash greater attack by aligning the minion in one line or by making a pincer movement. ★ Editor’s Comment: As a CCG, the gameplay is not difficult. Free reroll is available after the tutorial, so you can try to reroll until you obtain Legendary card. It is like a mixture of card games and chess battles, while multiple strategy is needed, including where you place your minions, and which cards you should select. But you may need to know a little bit Japanese in order to understand the skills of each card. The game is currently collaborating with Cardcaptor Sakura until 6/11 and the visual is just stunning. ▍Screenshots

▍OverviewIt is a RPG game that allows players to hire and train yuusha as the boss of a company. The game is supervised by Disgaea: Hour of Darkness creator Yamamoto Masahiro (山本雅博) and produced by Monster Strike game developer Yoshiki Okamoto (岡本吉起). The illustration is created by Keroro Gunso mangaka Mine Yoshizaki (吉崎観音). You can assign Yuusha to the dungeons and support their adventure by making commands or unleashing the skills of the secretary. On the other hand, players can create your own Yuusha by training a freshman in the Yuusha academy and select his/ her jobs among 6 option, ranging from warrior, hunter to mage. ★ Editor’s Comment: The system is actually quite interesting. Instead of nurturing Yuusha, like most of the RPG, it focuses on nurturing the secretary (or supporting characters). You can obtain secretary through the gacha and their skills could largely affect you conquer the dungeon. Customizing Yuusha is also a highlight. There are a lot of possibilities depending on what Yuusha you want to include in your team, but it certainly takes time and items to train a S-Rank Yuusha. ▍Screenshots

4. Touhou Cannonball東方キャノンボール
▍OverviewIt is the first official smartphone game of the popular franchise, Touhou Project. Gameplay is similar to Monopoly as players roll the dice to move across the Gensokyo-set board and earn money through buying items, battling, shopping, and more. Player will form a team of four and battle against the NPC. The one that collects the most cannonball (CB) under a certain turn will be the winner. There are 3D animation when you unleash the skills of the characters. ★ Editor’s Comment: Touhou fans can collect the characters from the franchise and read the game-exclusive original story. The visual looks nice and the live 2D technology further makes the characters look lively. I have lots of fun even though I am no Touhou fans. It is not a traditional Monopoly as you can use amulets, steal your opponent’s cannonball or obstruct your opponents in various ways. It is also nice that you can also buy BGM of the franchise in the shop and listen to them during battles. ▍Screenshots

▍OverviewA female voice actress breeding game created by LIBER Entertainment, the same developer of otome game “A3!” and “i☆Chu”. The game features a fully-voiced main story with 16 real voice actress rookies joining the main cast. A simple training system allows players to nurture the characters. It also features original animation, where you can assign its cast according to your own preferences (after fulfilling certain requirements). ★ Editor’s Comment: The gameplay is pretty much the same as “A3”. Practically you can turn on the auto mode and it will train the character’s for you. But the live-2D visuals and fully voiced main story certainly attracts some fans, who are interested in learning more about the voice acting industry. ▍Screenshots

▍OverviewIt is an otome ADV game based on Mayu Shinjo (新條まゆ) 1997 shojo manga Sensual Phrase ( 快感 フレーズ ). You will follow the protagonist to meet different ikeman musician in the fully-voiced main story, as well as collecting their side story, individual story and card story by nurturing the characters. Gameplay is similar to the board game, Monopoly, which allows you to collect coins or items by choosing to move forward or backward on the map. ★ Editor’s Comment: You can really expect some heart-throbbing love story as it is based on one of the most famous work of Mayu Shinjo. Gameplay may be a bit simple, but the visual looks amazing, and the all-star cast really draws you to the story. Also, the EXR card story is really erotic and I don’t think any otome can resist this. ▍Screenshots

▍OverviewThis is the Japanese version of the Chinese game under the same name. The SRPG allows players to control the bishojo anthropomorphic tanks, cannons, and aircrafts. You will be commanding the bishojo in ground and air battle, while a bunch of factors will affect the result of the battles, including weather, terrain and types of the enemy. ★ Editor’s Comment: The anthropomorphic weapons is nicely designed. Different strategies are needed as you have to engage in air and ground battle simultaneously. After clearing the first chapter, players can change the skills of the characters according to your preferences, so that you can build the perfect team of your own. ▍Screenshots

▍OverviewIt is a dress-up game based on Clamp’s classic shojo manga Cardcaptor Sakura. You will be able to dress up Sakura, as well as building furniture to decorate her room. Players can also study the story of Sakura Card arc, Clow Card arc and Clear Card arc, after completing different mission. You can also collect the series’ signature scene by drawing the gacha. ★ Editor’s Comment: Female players would love this game as the customs and furniture are beautifully designed. Though the game is not stamina-based, you have to wait until the materials are produced in order to proceed with the game. Gameplay is not particularly special, but the fact that you can collect the illustration of the series certainly attracts some fans. ▍Screenshots

▍OverviewIt is a smartphone version of Konami’s dating sim series LovePlus. Players will be able to interact with the series’ three heroine. Through conversations and a variety of different in-game events, players will be able to raise their affinity and proceed the love story. The game also features a VR and AR mode for players to feel closer to their beloved heroine. ★ Editor’s Comment: The 3D visuals look great when you enter the VR mode. The game follows the protagonist perspectives, which makes you feel like that the girl is standing right in front of you. ▍OverviewIt is a mystery-solving rhythm game, produced by Japanese composer Naoki Maeda (前田尚紀), who is best known for composing and arranging music for Konami music video games, including the Dance Dance Revolution and Bemani series. It features three difficulties and two modes, normal and chaos, while the latter features taps that appear anywhere on the screen with all manner of swiping and tapping. ★ Editor’s Comment: The unique visual styles really drag you into its world. The music features a wide-range of styles and it is not hard to find your favorite. PVP battles is fun (available after you clear the main story) and you can unleash the character skills to obstruct your opponents. However, patience is needed as it takes around 15 minutes to finish the tutorial and skip is not an option… ▍Screenshots
