In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Yoshinobu Akita’s (秋田禎信) fantasy light novel series Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (魔術士オーフェン), it is making a grand return on TV and the show will premiere in Japan on 7th January 2020. The official Twitter and website recently revealed the key visuals, main voice cast, and promotional videos.
▍Story
The protagonist is an orphan magician named Orphen (オーフェン). His foster sister Azalie (アザリー) becomes a dragon-like creature as a result of her desire to get greater magical power. Determined to save Azalie, he leaves his prestigious magic school to search for a remedy. During the journey, he is joined by Cleao Everlasting (クリーオウ・エバーラスティン), who later develops feelings for him.

▍About Sorcerous Stabber Orphen
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen was originally a light novel series written by Yoshinobu Akita (秋田禎信) and illustrated by Yuuya Kusaka (草河遊也). It was published between 1994 and 2003 and inspired two TV anime seasons during 1998 and 2000. The spin-off novel, Slayers x Orphen, is still in progress. The series has exceeded 14 million copies in print.
