Bandai Namco revealed details for the upcoming mobile game “The Idolmaster: Poplinks” (イドルマスター ポップリンクス) during yesterday’s online presentation.
The game is an “original unit training & live puzzle game” and is set to launch in 2021. An Android-only open beta test will be held in 2020.

“The Idolmaster: Poplinks” centers around a mega-concert called “Poplinks Festival,” where idols from the franchise will go beyond the boundaries of their respective agencies to form three-idol units. Players will play as the producer to lead your original unit to top in this large event.
▍Gameplay
Players will be able to form a three-idol unit according to your preference. Apart from the gacha system, an “Offer” system is available for you to directly scout your favorite idols.
The 60-second puzzle-solving gameplay allows you to play in short bursts of time. With simple rules (trace and connect), you can easily enjoy the game. The Idolmaster song that you selected will play during the Fever Time “hakoyure”.
The game system is simple, yet strategic. Players can set and swap different skills for each idol. The same members will also evolve differently depending on the producer.
Increase the intimacy level of your idols through different unit activities. An endless training panel “Coaching”n is also available for you to nurture your idols.
You can also customize an original CD cover for your unit using a wealth of materials including idol illustrations, frames, and stickers, and share it on Profile or SNS.
More than 70 idols and 27 songs will be available when the game is launched. New idols will also be added monthly.
