At the Fate Project 2017 special stage at AnimeJapan 2017 today (26th March), the Fate series announced a few big plans for this year.
The major revelation is the making of a new TV anime series, Fate/Apocrypha. Fate/Apocrypha is a side story of Fate/stay night, revolving around the Holy Grail War that involves 14 masters from both the red camp and the black camp. A special class, Ruler, is also involved in the war in this series.
The anime is currently produced by A-1 Pictures, and will air in July on various Japanese channels as well as Netflix.
Besides, the mobile spin-off Fate/Grand Order will launch a collaboration event with PSP title Fate/EXTRA CCC and a new event “ぐだぐだ明治維新” in mid April. It will also get a stage play “Fate/Grand Order THE STAGE 新生円卓領域キャメロット” running from 14th July to 17th July this year. The plot is said to be based on chapter six of the the game.
