It has been confirmed that the movie&#8217;s director Yuichi Fukuda will direct this series. The presence of a few characters including protagonist Gintoki Sakata, Shinsengumi members Hijikata Toshirou, Kondou Isao and Okita Sougo has also been confirmed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-90657\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/d27fq2mgp64qlg.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/17052603325986.jpg?resize=640%2C427&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" title=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>Live-action Gintama is set in the Edo period of Japan. The plot is based off the Benizakura Arc\uff08\u7d05\u685c\u7bc7\uff09from the original Gintama. In this arc, Katsura Kotaro is attacked by Kiheitai, a terrorist group lead by Takasgi Shinsuke, who is a childhood friend of Katsura and Gintoki. The Yorozuya trio (Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura) then go searching for him and the searching eventually turns into bloodshed.
