REDICE Studio announced on July 25, 3:30 PM on its official Twitter account that the artist for the Manhwa Solo Leveling<\/strong><\/a>, DUBU \/ Jang Sung-Rak passed away on July 23 from a cerebral hemorrhage from a chronic illness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement stated that he had been suffering from a known health condition for quite some time. The studio thanked readers for all the support shown to Solo Leveling and asks that everyone prays for Jang Sung-Rak to rest peacefully, and in a better place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A funeral service was held with the artist’s family and close friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUBU \/ Jang Sun-Rak was the illustrator for the popular Korean manhwa series Solo Leveling which launched in March 2018, culminating in a nearly four year-run when it ended in December 2021 and was also the CEO of REDICE studio, which creates produced webtoon adaptations fo novels and did the illustration for the Space Dandy manga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks in no small part to their artwork, their work Solo Leveling with author Chugong is going on to receive a mobile game, and an anime adaptation by A-1 pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
