<\/span><\/font><\/div>The new Rurouni Kenshin<\/a><\/strong> anime has received its fifth trailer, which showcased a preview of the newly announced opening song \u201cHiten\u201d (\u98db\u5929) by Ayase x R-Shitei, a powerful artist tie-up of Yoasobi’s producer and Creepy Nuts’ rapper, while Reol is performing the ending song “Edge” (\u5207\u3063\u5148). The anime series, which is scheduled to premiere on July 6, will run for two consecutive cours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new visual highlighting the series’ main characters; Kenshin Himura, Kaoru Kamiya, Sanosuke Sagara, Megumi Takani, and Aoshi Shinomori, are also revealed. Also, Satoshi Hino is joining the cast as Hajime Saito.<\/p>\n\n\n

A theatrical screening event will be held on June 18 at United Cinema Aqua City Odaiba. Screening events are also set to be held in America, France, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the legendary Shonen manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki, the series ran from 1994 to 1999 in Weekly Shonen Jump. A direct sequel to the series,\u00a0Rurouni Kenshin: The Hokkaido Arc, started serialization in 2017. The sequel was briefly on hiatus (February-June 2018) after Watsuki was charged with possession of explicit materials focusing on children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gallop and Studio DEEN first animated the adaptation, which aired from 1996 to 1999. The franchise also has a live-action adaptation, which contains five movies, starring Takeru Satoh as Kenshin. And this new anime reboot is animated by LIDENFILMS\u00a0<\/em>and directed by My Master Has No Tail’s Hideyo Yamamoto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
