At the Anime Expo 2023, Studio Trigger announced that they have obtained the rights of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt<\/strong><\/a> from studio Gainax as they’re making a new anime project titled New Panty And Stocking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement video, which showcases the series’ defining tone and style, features a plethora of scenes with the series’ main characters, giving fans a taste of what to expect from the series. The promotional video was supervised by Hiroyuki Imaishi, director of the original series who founded studio Trigger after leaving studio Gainax in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series has garnered a cult following for its unique style, combining American cartoon aesthetics and Japanese anime influences. Panty Anarchy is obsessed with sex, while her younger sister Stocking finds pleasure in sweets. Though they wield formidable powers, Panty’s panties transform into a gun, while Stocking’s stockings become swords, their personal flaws often lead to complications in their ghost-hunting missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
