At yesterday’s Dengeki Bunko 30th Natsu no Saiten Online 2023, Kadokawa announced that the anime adaptation of Shinji Cobkubo’s Sabikui Bisco<\/a><\/strong> light novel series is getting a second season!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While no broadcast date was revealed just yet, it has been confirmed that OZ, the animation studio that handled season one, will continue to animate the anime’s season 2. A celebratory illustration depicting Bisco and Miro holding a bow was also released for the announcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabikui Bisco, known as Rust-Eating Bisco in English, is a series of light novels written by Shinji Cobkubo and illustrated by K Akagishi, with world-building art by mocha. ASCII Media Works has released eight volumes since March 2018 under their Dengeki Bunko label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story is set in Japan after a mysterious phenomenon known as a Rusting Wind has corroded everything. People live in fear of the rust that corrodes cities and life in general. A boy named Bisco Akaboshi from the despised Mushroom Guardian tribe embarks on a journey to obtain the Sabikui Mushroom, which is a miracle fungus that is said to purify all rust, in order to save his dying teacher. The first season aired from January to March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
