Toho Animation update the website for <\/span>The Apothecary Diaries<\/a><\/span> anime with a number of new character <\/span>visuals for its main characters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The website has revealed visuals for Maomao, Jinshi, Gaoshun, Gyokuyou, and Xiaolan. At the moment the cast members for most of these characters have yet to be revealed, but Aoi Y\u016bki will be voicing Maomao, and Takeo \u014ctsuka has been cast as Jinshi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Apothecary Diaries Anime is set to debut in October 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n

The light novel series written by Natsu Hy\u016bga and illustrated by Touko Shino was serialized online in 2011 on the user-generated novel publishing website Sh\u014dsetsuka ni Nar\u014d. In the following year, it was acquired by Shufunotomo, who initially published the series as a novel with a single volume in 2012, and then as a light novel series in 2014. The series has also received a manga adaptation illustrated by Itsuki Nanao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story of The Apothecary Diaries follows Maomao, a young woman trained in the art of herbal medicine, who is forced to work as a lowly servant in the inner palace. Though she yearns for a life outside its perfumed halls, she isn’t long for a life of drudgery! Using her wits to break a “curse” afflicting the imperial heirs, Maomao attracts the attention of the handsome eunuch Jinshi and is promoted to attendant food taster. But Jinshi has other plans for the erstwhile apothecary, and soon Maomao is back to brewing potions and\u2026solving mysteries?!<\/p>\n\n\n
