Kodansha announced yesterday (20th November) that Grand Blue (\u3050\u3089\u3093\u3076\u308b), a comedy manga written by Inoue Kenji (\u4e95\u4e0a\u5805\u4e8c) with illustrations by Yoshioka Kimitake (\u5409\u5ca1\u516c\u5a01), is coming to the big screen in Japan next summer!<\/p>\n

The movie will be directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa (\u82f1\u52c9), who has directed the live-action Heroine Shikkaku (\u30d2\u30ed\u30a4\u30f3\u5931\u683c), Real Girl (3D\u5f7c\u5973 \u30ea\u30a2\u30eb\u30ac\u30fc\u30eb) and Kakegurui \u2013 Compulsive Gambler (\u8ced\u30b1\u30b0\u30eb\u30a4) and many more movies adapted from manga.<\/p>\n

For now, there’s only a picture with two shirtless actors standing in front of GRAND BLUE, further details of the cast are not revealed yet.<\/p>\n

\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Story<\/h4>\n

The story begins when Iori Kitahara (\u5317\u539f\u4f0a\u7e54) relocates to the Izu Peninsula as he prepares to enter the university there. He stays at his uncle’s diving shop \u201cGRAND BLUE\u201d and meet the people from the local Diving Club, who devote more time to drink, party and strip than diving. Can Iori still live his long-awaited campus life?<\/p>\n

The original manga series has been serialized since April 2014 and it has just surpassed 4.4 million copies. The latest Vol.14 is coming out this Friday (22nd November).\u00a0It also inspired a television anime in 2018, produced by Zero-G.<\/p>\n

I thought I was going to make a movie about \u201cGuys are stupid!\u201d, but it turns out to be \u201cGuys are stupid! Really stupid! Jerk!\u201d- kind of film. Although the tagline is \u201cBetting youth, love, and friendship on diving! Let\u2019s all dive into the best sea world ever!\u201d, it is, in fact, the complete opposite. It is a scam. I am probably the real \u201call-nxxxx\u201d director.<\/p>\n
