The anime adaptation of Takuya Mitsuda’s (\u6e80\u7530\u62d3\u4e5f) baseball manga Major 2nd (\u30e1\u30b8\u30e3\u30fc\u30bb\u30ab\u30f3\u30c9) confirms a second season that will premiere on 4th April. A new visual, staff and new cast members are also revealed.<\/p>\n

Daiki Yamashita (\u5c71\u4e0b\u5927\u8f1d) joins the cast as the rookie player Akira Nishina (\u4ec1\u79d1\u660e), joining returning cast members Natsumi Fujiwara (\u85e4\u539f\u590f\u6d77) as Daigo Shigeno (\u8302\u91ce \u5927\u543e), and Kana Hanazawa (\u82b1\u6fa4\u9999\u83dc) as Mutsuko Sakura (\u4f50\u5009 \u7766\u5b50).<\/p>\n

Ayumu Watanabe (\u6e21\u8fba \u6b69) returns as director at OLM, with returning writer Michihiro Tsuchiya (\u571f\u5c4b \u7406\u656c) in charge of series scripts. Tsuchiya is also penning the scripts together with returning writers Kenji Konuta (\u53e4\u6012\u7530 \u5065\u5fd7) and Kenichi Yamashita (\u5c71\u4e0b\u61b2\u4e00), with Akiko Inoue (\u4e95\u4e0a\u4e9c\u6a39\u5b50) joining as the scriptwriter.<\/p>\n

\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Story<\/h4>\n

Years after the previous series (MAJOR), Daigo Shigeno who is now in elementary school student, dreams to become a professional baseball player just like his father and former major leaguer, Goro Shigeno.<\/p>\n

Following his father’s footsteps, Daigo joined the little league team \u201cMifune Dolphins\u201d, but finds his skills lacking and fell under the pressure from his peer players of becoming the second generation. Eventually, Daigo gave up baseball before even trying it out for a year and lived his life apathetically.<\/p>\n

Now in the 6th grade, he meets a new transfer student who returned home from America. The boy’s name is Hikaru Sato, whose father is a former major leaguer and a longtime friend of Goro. And the wheel of fate concerning these young lads is about to spin!<\/p>\n
