The ghost stories anime \u201cYamishibai\u201d (\u95c7\u829d\u5c45) is confirmed to inspire a spinoff anime series “Ninja Collection” (\u5fcd\u8005\u30b3\u30ec\u30af\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3), which is set to premiere this July.<\/p>\n

The \u201cYamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories\u201d series is originally anime shorts that feature six-minute horror stories based on the urban legends in Japan. It draws inspiration from Sh\u014dwa-era illustrated paper theater productions.<\/p>\n

The new \u201cNinja Collection\u201d anime will retain the urban legend and horror elements but will center on the T\u014dkesh\u016b ninja group in Tokyo. With ancient techniques passed down through generations, the ninja is intent on wiping out the “darkness” enveloping people in the modern days. They are called \u201cTouke Sh\u016b\u201d (\u8a0e\u602a\u8846).<\/p>\n

\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Cast<\/h4>\n

The anime stars actors from the “2.5D stage plays”, including Y\u016bki Kimisawa (\u541b\u6ca2\u30e6\u30a6\u30ad), Taiga Fukazawa (\u6df1\u6fa4\u5927\u6cb3), Kazuki Soejima (\u526f\u5cf6\u548c\u6a39\u3055), and Ry\u014dshir\u014d Tsuji (\u8fbb\u51cc\u5fd7\u6717). The cast also features VTuber Taku Nanase (\u4e03\u702c\u30bf\u30af), up-and-coming actors K\u014d Ikeda (\u6c60\u7530\u822a) and Shion Suzuki (\u9234\u6728\u5fd7\u9060), Niji no Conquistador idol group member Akari Nakamura (\u4e2d\u6751\u6731\u91cc), idol Monika Mita (\u4e09\u7530\u840c\u65e5\u9999), and more.<\/p>\n

\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Staff and Production<\/h4>\n

Hiromu Kumamoto and Mitsuhiro Sasaki return from \u201cYamishibai\u201d as scriptwriters with newcomer Rei Tsuruga. Akira Funada is directing the new project at ILCA, TIA, and DRAWIZ (in collaboration with Aqua). Akayoroshi (\u3042\u53ef\u3088\u308d\u3057) is credited as the original character designs, and Tsubo Asano (\u30c4\u30dc\u6d45\u91ce)is animating.<\/p>\n

The rock band Backdrop Cinderella performs the ending theme song “Dance Unzaunza on Your Tippy-toes Like a Ninja” (\u5fcd\u3073\u8db3\u3067\u30a6\u30f3\u30b6\u30a6\u30f3\u30b6\u3092\u8e0a\u308b).<\/p>\n
