Written by Hiroshi Takashige and illustrated by Ry\u014dji Minagawa, classic sci-fi manga \u201cSpriggan\u201d (\u30b9\u30d7\u30ea\u30ac\u30f3) is confirmed to inspire an anime adaptation that will debut on Netflix globally in 2021.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0teaser\u00a0visual centering the protagonist\u00a0Yu Ominae has been revealed for the announcement. The\u00a0original net anime (ONA) is animated by david production, which is known to produce the \u201cJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure\u201d anime series.<\/p>\n

\u201cKiznaiver\u201d director Hiroshi Kobayashi is directing the series, while \u201cAttack on Titan: The Final Season\u201d script writer Hiroshi Seko is penning the script. Shuhei Handa works on the character design.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpriggan\u201d was serialized in Shogakukan’s manga magazines Weekly Sh\u014dnen Sunday and Sh\u014dnen Sunday Z\u014dkan from 1989 to 1996.\u00a0The manga was adapted into an\u00a0anime film\u00a0by\u00a0Studio 4\u00b0C\u00a0in 1998.<\/p>\n

It takes places in the last years of the Cold War where mysterious and unknown artifacts called out-of-place artifacts (OOPArt) are discovered in various parts of the world, leading to a secret war between various forces against the ARCAM Corporation, an organization that placed itself the guardians of the OOPArts in order to prevent them from being used as weapons.<\/p>\n
