Kumiko Saiki’s \u201cKageki Shoujo!!\u201d (\u304b\u3052\u304d\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3058\u3087!!) manga is confirmed to inspire a TV anime adaptation for 2021. The series follows a Takarazuka Revue-like school, which recruits young women to play both male and female roles in musicals.<\/p>\n

The anime will follow the story of \u201cKageki Shoujo!! Season Zero\u201d. \u201cHozuki’s Coolheadedness\u201d director Kazuhiro Yoneda is directing the anime at PINE JAM, while \u201cYona of the Dawn\u201d writer Tadashi Morishita is in charge of series composition.<\/p>\n

Created by Kumiko Saiki, \u201cKageki Shoujo!\u201d was first serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Kai magazine from 2012 to 2014 and was collected in two tank\u014dbon volumes. A sequel manga by Saiki titled \u201cKageki Shoujo!!\u201d (\u304b\u3052\u304d\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3058\u3087\uff01\uff01) has been serialized in Hakusensha’s Melody magazine since 2015.<\/p>\n

The story centers on the Kouka Kageki High School, which trains young women to play all the parts of musical theater, be they female or male. Narada Ai is a jaded former idol performing female roles\u2014her roommate, playing male roles, is bright-eyed country girl Watanabe Sarasa. From the school to the stage to the rest of their lives, there is no challenge these young women can’t face with their passion for performance.<\/p>\n
