During the Pok\u00e9mon Presents 18.8.21 live-stream, a new trailer for the previously announced new Pok\u00e9mon title, Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus, was unveiled. The new trailer revealed new gameplay mechanics to the Pok\u00e9mon series and announced the announced date for the upcoming new game for 28th January 2022. Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus is a brand new game to the Pok\u00e9mon series. The game introduces a new action element to the Pok\u00e9mon RPG series. Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus takes place in the Hisui Region which will be known as the Sinnoh Region in the future. The game will take place in a “long-ago era where it is rare for people to live in harmony alongside Pok\u00e9mon”.<\/p>\n

In Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus, the player will set off on a journey with the goal of completing the first-ever Pok\u00e9dex of the region. On their journey, the player will be recognized by the commander of the Galaxy Expedition Team, Commander Komado, and will join the Survey Corp whose main function is to research Pok\u00e9mon. Players will also work alongside the different corps in the expedition team including together with the Medical Corp and the Security Corp.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus will introduce a couple of new features to the Pok\u00e9mon RPG series. First, in the wild, Pok\u00e9mon will interact with the player differently. Some Pok\u00e9mon will remain relatively peaceful as the player approaches, some may flee at the sight of the player, and others may be more aggressive and attack the player on sight. If the player takes too much damage, they will blackout.<\/p>\n

Different from the previous Pok\u00e9mon RPG titles, in the new game, players can directly throw Pok\u00e9 Balls at wild Pok\u00e9mon. Different Pok\u00e9mon will require different tactics to capture. Players can also initial battles with wild Pok\u00e9mon by throwing a Pok\u00e9 Ball holding their Pok\u00e9mon near a wild Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Battles will also have drastic changes. The most significant change is that whilst Pok\u00e9mon battles are still turn-based, Pok\u00e9mon can act multiple times in a row depending on their speed and the move they use. Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus also introduces battle styles to Pok\u00e9mon battles every move in the game can be performed in the Strong Style and the Agile Style. The Strong Style will increase the Pok\u00e9mon’s move but lower the Pok\u00e9mon’s speed. The Agile Style does the opposite, lowering the move’s power but increasing the Pok\u00e9mon’s speed. By switching between the two different styles, players can draw up new strategies to winning the battle.<\/p>\n
