Sunrise has revealed three anime projects at the 2nd Gundam Conference streamed today on September 15, including a new TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, a new anime film Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island, and a special compilation anime for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.<\/p>\n

\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury<\/h4>\n

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury will be the Gundam anime franchise’s first TV series in seven years since Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans aired between 2015 and 2017. The new anime series will premiere in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island<\/h4>\n

The anime film Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island is based on the Mobile Suit Gundam TV anime’s 15th episode of the same name, which was aired in July 1979 in Japan.<\/p>\n

The 1979 anime series’ character designer and chief animation director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko will serve as the director. No details have been released other than that it is scheduled for theatrical release in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Special Anime<\/h4>\n

A 9-episode special compilation anime for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans will air in spring 2022 in conjunction with the release of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G mobile app. The programme will feature a “preview” of part of the upcoming spinoff, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Urdr Hunt.
