The Sword Art Online<\/a> franchise announced new anime film project titled Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Scherzo of a Dark Dusk for 2022, following the success of Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night.<\/p>\n

Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night opened on October 30,2021 in Japan. The film topped the box office and earned about 349 million yen (about US$3.06 million) in its first two days.<\/p>\n

Though no further details have been revealed for the new anime project, the Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night anime film is based on Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online: Progressive light novel series.<\/p>\n

The light novels was launched in 2012 as a revised retelling of his original Sword Art Online novels, following the story of Kirito and Asuna as they enter the very first level of the deadly world of Aincrad.<\/p>\n

The film is directed by Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic unit director Ayako Kawano and animated by A-1 Pictures.\u201cSword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld character designer Kento Toya and music composer Yuki Kajiura reprise their roles.<\/p>\n
