The anime adaptation of Shinobu Ohtaka\u2019s Orient<\/strong><\/a> revealed a new visual for its 2nd cour, which is scheduled to premiere in July 2022. The second cour will follow the Battle of Awaji Island arc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visual sheds spotlight on Uesugi Bushidan, while Y\u014dko Hikasa joins the cast as Kuroko Usami. Additional cast members for the anime’s 2nd cour includes\u00a0Tomaki Maeno\u00a0as Tatsuomi Uesugi,\u00a0Natsuki Hanae\u00a0as Kanetatsu Naoe,\u00a0Yoshiki Nakajima\u00a0as Masayuki Amakasu,\u00a0Kouki Uchiyama\u00a0as Akihiro Shimazu, and\u00a0Gakuto Kajiwara\u00a0as Katsumi Amako.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The anime is based on the manga of the same name by\u00a0Magi\u00a0creator\u00a0Shinobu Ohtaka. It began serialization in May 2018 in Kodansha\u2019s Weekly Shounen Magazine, before moving to the monthly Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in February 2021. 14 tankoubon volumes of the series have been published so far.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At age 10, best friends Musashi and Kojiro sat in excited silence as Kojiro’s father spun tales of evil demons who preyed on the innocent, and the warriors who defeated them. Practicing swordplay, the two swear an oath to become the strongest in the world. But as they grow up, Kojiro turns cynical, and Musashi comes to realize that he can’t turn back 150 years of demon rule on his own. He’s being called a prodigy with a pickaxe, and he’s almost ready to settle for a life of labor. Yet he can’t shake the feeling that he still has a responsibility to act\u2026and, soon, the injustices of his world will force his hand\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
