Netflix revealed the five main cast members for its upcoming live-action series based on the hugely popular manga and anime franchise One Piece.
The currently announced cast includes:
- Iñaki Godoy as Luffy
- Mackenyu as Zoro
- Emily Rudd as Nami
- Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp
- Taz Skylar as Sanji
Netflix also shared a note from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda about the development of the series, which reportedly will have 10 episodes. It’s well known that Oda had an idea for the nationalities of his characters for a long time. Luffy was from Brazil, Zoro from Japan, Nami from Sweden, Usopp from Africa, and Sanji from France. With this cast, the live-action One Piece has clearly taken Oda’s desire for diversity to heart.
