The recently released Sanrio Miracle Match is an adorable take on the asymmetric survival game genre similar to Dead by Daylight, but this time, you will be manipulating your favorite Sanrio characters in a real-time 6vs2 battle!
Its simple yet thrilling gameplay successfully turns the exciting hide and seek into a fun-filled experience, making sure both newcomers and veterans of this genre are having a good time. The whimsical items and stages will transport you to a fanciful wonderland as you join other players to take on the challenges. More importantly, when the game is available on smartphones, you can start the quick battle anywhere anytime in the palm of your hands!
▍Super Cute Hunters vs Super Cute Challengers
Once you start playing Sanrio Miracle Match, it is not hard to find similarities to those classic LAN party games where players make a group and play together. Even if you are a novice of this game genre, Sanrio Miracle Match would teach you steps by steps via a thorough tutorial with all related features, such as character controls, abilities, and camera movement. This is highly appreciated as the game has no story to offer and players can dive into the battle right away.
The casual and strategic action-packed battle starts when all players being divided into different categories – Hunters and Challengers. With eight players in a group, two of the players are assigned the role of a Hunter and six players are assigned the role of a Challenger. Hunters possess the ability to capture Challengers and lock them in a magical circle.
The Challengers, on the other hand, have the ability to rescue their fellow Challengers that are trapped by the cruel Hunters in the magical world of Sanrio Miracle Match. A classic cat and mouse chase game begins as the Hunters win if they capture all 6 Challengers. The Challengers will win if they rescue any of the captured Challengers. Certain strategies are also required to win the matches effectively. Perhaps the most amazing part of the gameplay experience is that players all around the world are able to play together, but you may really need a strong connection to do that.
Players will need to strategize accordingly and take part in multiple battles in order to upgrade their abilities. As we told before, both hunters and challenger Sanrio characters have different types of abilities that help them excel at their own tasks. For example, Hunter characters have abilities like Scouting which will reveal the location of all challengers for a short duration of time and can be used only a specific number of times in a battle. Similarly, challengers have abilities like Sprint which increase their movement speed for a short duration of time to escape the Hunters. Sprint also can be used only a specific number of times during the battle.
▍Costumize the Life-Size 3D Sanrio Charcters
Sanrio Miracle Match has all the cuteness stuffed in their full 3D characters that moves vividly, otherwordingly super adorable, in battles. You can select between a roster of popular Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Pompompurin, Pochakko, Keroppi, Hankyodon and more. Players can also costumize their characters according to their liking by changing their costumes and accessories. All the characters are voice acted by their original Japanese VA, in order to recreate the one-and-only Sanrio universe.
To collect all the lovable Sanrio characters, players have to summon them on different gacha banners offered in the Scout tab of the game. Players can summon with the premium currency or by using the tickets that earned by completing missions and quests in-game. The highest rarity of Sanrio characters is 3-Star and has a 3% probability of being summoned. But I don’t think anything can stop you from collecting these cuties!
▍Join a Match Everyday to Get Attractive Rewards
In Sanrio Miracle Match, players can complete different missions in order to receive the attractive rewards. These missions or quests will reset on a daily basis, giving you the incentive to log in daily and play the game. Most of the missions are quite simple and only need the player to join a match. Some missions can only be completed when players play as Hunters or Challengers, making sure that the matching making won’t lean towards a particular role.
Sanrio Miracle Match is quite the casual game as most of the matches last only 2-3 minutes depending on the player to player as well as their strategic skills. Other missions ask the players to send friend requests to fellow players. Such missions certainly help grow the community of Sanrio Miracle Match as players find their matches faster and play with their friends or in groups. The game does have a premium pass, which can only be obtained via in-app purchse. But considering the casual nurture of the game, you don’t really have to spend a dime to have a good gaming experience, unless you want a particular characters or accessories.
▍Prepare Your Sanrio Characters for Battle
Whether it is a Hunter or a Challenger, the characters in Sanrio Miracle Match have different ability that give you advantages in the match. Players can upgrade their levels by using Gold and the fragments of the Sanrio character. Fragments can be earned through summoning duplicate copies of the Sanrio character. As the characters level up, their stats increase as well as they unlock different abilities at different levels. These upgraded abilities definitely help the players to get an advantage over players that do not have upgraded characters.
▍Should You Play Sanrio Miracle Match?
Sanrio Miracle Match is one of the cutest and most fun-filled mobile games in recent years. Players who like casual gameplay and enjoy getting an adrenaline rush as you run away from hunters or chase after the challengers will certainly like this game.
However, as previously mention, the game doesn’t really have an in-depth story nor machanics so don’t expect that it can keep you busy for hours like the traditional JRPGs. More Hunter selection is also preferred, it feels lacking compared to the large roaster of Challengers currently available in the game. Indeed, I personally would like to see an evil Hello Kitty on the Hunter side.
