Touhou Project’s first mobile rhythm game Touhou Danmaku Kagura will end service on October 28, announced during a live stream program on the official Youtube channel.
According to the official announcement, the end of service seems to be directly related to the unsatisfying sales since its release in August 2021. The operational team also considers reducing the number of additional songs and events and lowering various qualities. But as it will be far from the Touhou Danmaku Kagra that players want, it was decided to end service.
To express gratitude to fans, the content addition schedule of Touhou Danmaku Kagra is packed tightly until the end of the service as if it were a game that continues to operate. The content roadmap has been revealed on the official Twitter, and a total of eight events and 11 characters will be updated to the game these three months until the service is suspended.
As for the new playable songs, 39 songs will be added to the game, starting with “Resonance ~ I’m the one” (Resonance ~ 私たらしめるもの) sung by Nagi Yanagi, which was added today. It also includes three songs newly written for this game by famous composers.
In addition, on October 28, the final day of the service, the annual live event Touhou Danmak Festival will be broadcast online.
