DeNa announced a new competitive online multiplayer football game based on the Captain Tsubasa anime, Captain Tsubasa: Ace for iOS and Android. The game was revealed with a teaser trailer at the TapTap Presents 2022 event.
Though no gameplay details were shown off in the teaser, Captain Tsubasa Ace is said to be a real-time online multiplayer game, bringing back several elements from the show such as the iconic characters, their signature moves, and the story of the original series.
Captain Tsubasa Ace currently has no release date, and without a proper logo, it seems the game is still in the very early stages of development.

Captain Tsubasa is an ongoing manga series created by Yōichi Takahashi, centering on the world of association football as it evolves from the late 70s, and into the 2000s. The manga follows 11-year-old Tsubasa Oozora, a young football enthusiast and potential prodigy who fell deeply in love with football, and one day dreams of winning the FIFA World Cup for Japan. The series progresses through Tsubasa’s journey as a child to an adult, playing and practicing football, traveling to Brazil, and eventually playing for Japan at the Olympics.
Captain Tsubasa is an incredibly influential and popular manga series in Japan, selling over 80 million copies and having been ranked “Top 100” lists of the best mangas of all time. The manga and anime have inspired countless professional football players in Japan to play the sport, and Tsubasa and Misaki have even appeared in a video for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Tsubasa also has a statue erected of him, in the town of Katsushika Tokyo, Yōichi Takahashi’s hometown.
