Square Enix has just announced today (12th June), that Hanjuku Hero will be coming to iOS/Android in Fall 2017.
Hanjuku Hero initially came out in 1988 on Famicom (FC). Four years later, in 1992, Hanjuku Hero was released on Super Famicom (SFC). The franchise continued its way into the PS2 generation, releasing 2 additional titles and a side story on Nintendo’s 3DS.
Hanjuku Hero is a real-time simulation RPG which puts players in the role of a general, leading an army to take over certain landmarks on the map.
The game was innovative for its time and with its vast world and exaggerated story setting the game made a name for itself, becoming of of Square’s signature titles.
Hanjuku Hero ~ah~ Sekai yo Hanjuku Nare…!! (半熟英雄 ああ、世界よ半熟なれ…!! ) will be bringing the original FC version of the game to the mobile market, with all its bizarre story settings and retro 2D graphics. The game is scheduled for release on iOS/Android in 2017.
