After more than 3 years since its initial teaser, The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild’s sequel finally has a release date and a new name it’s titled The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game is set to launch next year on May 12, 2023.
The game’s release date and the name were unveiled at the Nintendo Direct, showing off more gameplay footage along with the reworked Hyrule Link will visit after the events of Breath of the Wild.

Taking place in the same universe as the massively successful The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link and Zelda embark on a new journey together going through the ruins of Hyrule, only for them to have accidentally awoken an ancient and mysterious evil.
After it is awoken, strange ruins emerge from the ground and appear in Hyrule, and above its skies, and take Zelda. Link embarks once more on a journey spanning the entirety of Hyrule to save Zelda and learn more about this ancient being.
▍Tears of the Kingdom Gameplay
Not much has been revealed about Tears of the Kingdom’s gameplay apart from some of the basic movements and the world, however, from what we can see from Link and the world, we can expect new puzzles for you to solve and new gadgets to use.
The world of Hyrule has also been modified dramatically with an altered landscape and several new ruins in the sky, meaning we’ll have more methods to travel through the world by air, and new ways to get around quickly.
