Adapted from Ishida Sui’s (石田スイ) popular manga series of the same title, live action Tokyo Ghoul (東京喰種) has released a three-minute long trailer with English subtitles.
According to the trailers and shots released, the plot seems to revolve around the events when Kaneki is first turned into a half ghoul. The story is taken from the first part of the Tokyo Ghoul manga series which has already finished its serialisation Weekly Young Jump magazine. The sequel Tokyo Ghoul: re is still on-going.
The original story focuses on Ken Kaneki, a plain university student who is turned into a half ghoul by accident, and the story carries on as he tries to survive as a half ghoul and gets involved in a chain of ghouls’ conflicts.
The movie will be out on 29th July, 2017 worldwide.
