Level Infinite and Hotta Studio held a live stream this morning showcasing all of the new things players can expect in the new desert region that will be coming to the Tower of Fantasy‘s Ver 2.0 update on October 20. In addition to information about the area, the hosts also revealed a new character, Ruby and Saki, together with a release campaign.
▍New Tower of Fantasy Region – Vera
First, the Livestream introduced the various aspects of the desert of Vera and the cyberpunk-esque city of Mirroria. Just like any other region, Executors must vary of all the enemies and threats that plague the desert.
The Vera area was under the jurisdiction of The Seventh Division of Helgaard before the Cataclysm, and lost contact with the main plane after the Cataclysm. The Desert Gobby makes up the main area of the expansion, an irradiated wilderness with the cyberpunk hub of Mirroria found in the heart of the desert.
Due to the failure of its local Vera Phantom Tower (an original energy repeater) after the Cataclysm, its space-time dimension cannot be calibrated on the main plane, nor can it obtain a stable supply of original energy. The intensity of the original energy radiation in the area is gradually decreasing, except for some heavily polluted areas.
During the live stream, the character Lin (voiced by Yoshino Nanjō) was also introduced. She is the only daughter of the founder of Mirroria, and is a bit of a fastidious person. Cool and serious, but also has a gentle side, and as you explore Vera and Mirroria with her, you’ll be able to know more about her.
▍New Tower of Fantasy Characters
■ Ruby
Ruby is a shy girl whom Lin has been protecting and working with, and is scheduled to be implemented on October 20. Her weapon of choice is the Spark, which is capable of a spectacular attack that shoots beams from an automatic turret-like object floating in mid-air.
■ Saki Fuwa
Saki is the head of the Mirroria Security Force. It is said she has a considerate strength force, and despite her cold demeanor, she loves to buy toys.
▍New Tower of Fantasy Modes
■ Gachapon Machines
Scattered across Mirroria in Tower of Fantasy are gachapon machines. Players can use a special type of currency called Mira to spin the gachapon machine and get rewards.
■ New Bosses: Puppet Singer and Abyssant Weaver
Two new bosses will be available for players to challenge in Tower of Fantasy’s 2.0 Update. The first, called the Pupper Singer, can launch wind blades and dash attacks. It can primarily drop volt or physical-stat items. The second, called the Abyssant Weaver, can summon copies of itself to heal and energize it. It can primarily drop flame and frost-stat items.
■ Grayspace
Once you’ve reached 40% of your Vera exploration percentage in Tower of Fantasy, you can enter this special space called the Grayspace, where many luxurious rewards await. You can also attempt this challenge with up to 8 players!
▍Vera Release Campaign
To commemorate the implementation of the major update, a limited-time commemorative campaign will be held where players will be able to draw up to 70 free pulls on the gachas and receive superb prizes such as an SSR Weapon of choice, an SSR artifact of choice and some limited-time avatar clothes!
In addition, logging in every day will earn you the extremely rare Red Nucleus which you can use in the upcoming Ruby banner. Lastly, completing quests in the designated campaign tasks will also get you limited-time icon frames and accessories. The Live Stream also reveals a gift code where you could redeem a present within the campaign period.
