At the Sword Art Online: Fulldive 10th-anniversary memorial event held on November 6 at Tokyo Garden Theater, Bandai Namco announced a new console ARPG for the series titled Sword Art Online: Last Recollection.
This new action RPG takes Kirito, Asuna, and several characters across the SAO series back to the Underworld, a virtual world on the verge of ending with harsh environments, designed to give birth to the ultimate Ai, A.L.I.C.E. The game is an action RPG that will also feature online co-op with up to four players!
Sword Art Online: Last Recollection launches for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023.

War is about to break out between the Human Empire, and the Dark Territory in the Underworld as it begins to collapse. Amidst the conflict, a young girl comes in accompanied by a knight in dark armor, and rides across from the side of the gate on a wyvern.
“Whether the world comes to an end I or die, what difference does it make?”
Is this mysterious girl the start of something new? Or the beginning of the end?
▍Sword Art Online: Last Recollection Gameplay
The game is an action RPG where players can control up to four characters, customizing their party around various characters from the SAO series.
Slash, cut, shoot, and maneuver your way around foes while executing signature attacks from the series. While playing offline you can control up to four of your favorite characters, while online you can experience the game together with each player taking control of one character.
It’s not known how progression carries over, but hopefully, in online play you’ll be able to “enter” another player’s session with a character from your save file so you can still gain experience and money from playing together to bring to your game!
