The upcoming seventh installment of the Disgaea series revealed its second trailer today on developer Nippon Ichi Software’s official Youtube channel.
This new trailer for Disgaea 7 revealed new character visuals and in-game mechanics players can expect when experiencing the game for themselves. These are introduced in a bite-sized manner through a cat-eared Secretary Prinny named Pii-chan. The odd baritone voice having Prinny dubs over the entire trailer, as he carefully explains the minutiae of Disgaea 7 going into its systems, world, characters, and more!
Disgaea 7 is planned to be released on January 26 for the PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.

▍Crush your Enemies with Dodeka MAX
Enlarge your characters to humongous sizes to take down multi enemies in one fell swoop! Revealed in the trailer was how Dodeka MAX-ed characters gain access to auxiliary effects named Dobilities that inflict different status effects on anyone misfortunate enough to get caught in a swing. Put enemies to sleep or even gender-bend them to your advantage! Just don’t forget your enemies can pull off Dodeka MAX on you as well.

Ever wanted to turn a strip of gum into a god-slaying axe? No? Well, now you can! With the new reincarnation system, players can turn weapons back to level 1 while carrying over bonus effects just like characters in the previous games. Delve into item worlds and grind up weapons and then reincarnate them to completely new items with powerful effects!

Tired of running through dungeons over and over again for EXP? Use the new Mashin Edit mode to input set commands for your party members and let them go to town on their own! The amount of turns you take to beat a stage directly correlates to how much fuel you use to auto-pilot, so optimizing your team’s strategies is key to getting the most out of grinding.
Keep in mind you’ve only got so many resources (called Masoline) to do this before you need to head back out to the item world or progress in the story to gain more.

Auto battling systems also open the door for Disgaea 7 to new online features like Ranked Battles! Set a series of sub-routines and strategies for your AI-controlled team and let them duke it out with other players online!
