▍About Sword of the Necromancer: Revenant
A sequel to the original Sword of the Necromancer, Revenant takes place in the same universe, chronicling a new tale of adventurers looking for the coveted sword.
A long time ago, a woman seemed the dark power to revive the dead in order to be with her loved one once more. After a series of dark rituals, she was granted this power in the form of a gemstone which was later turned into a sword. The sword had the dark power of a Necromancer, being able to revive anything from death, though life is never the same when it is forcefully taken from death’s grasp…
The game is primarily a dungeon-crawling RPG, but the big difference is Sword of the Necromancer places a big emphasis on using the dead to do your bidding! As you defeat enemies you can revive them on the spot to fight your foes for you or together. Or you can opt to store these creatures to summon later in tough encounters.
As a 3D RPG, you can now explore the dungeons in every dimension, being able to jump, glide across traps and manoeuvre around enemies with a new-found verticality and sense of space as you explore the dungeons, and the lands outside.
This time around the game features a new town-building mechanic! As you explore the dungeon you can earn money and valuable resources to restore the destroyed town of Euda to its former glory. Doing this can bring back its residents, and various services including shops, a forge, and cooking to help prepare for your travels ahead.
The game is also completely playable in co-op, with a new duo, a swordsman and a mage! You can play this mode completely solo, with an ai-controlled companion, and you can swap to either of them anytime during combat.
Though of course games are more fun with a friend, and you can play this co-op campaign together with a friend locally in split-screen, taking down foes with one of you in charge of the Sword of Necromancy, and one being able to dish out powerful spells to disable your opponents!
