The stage play Hunter x Hunter The Stage based on the hit manga by Yoshihiro Togashi will run from May 12 to 28, 2023. The cast, main visuals, and character visuals have been revealed.
The role of Gon, the main character, is played by 15-year-old rising star Shion Otomo, who took the role from the audition. Nichika Akutsu will play Killua Zoldyck, Yuki Ogoe will play Kurapika, and Shori Kondo will play Leorio Paladiknight.
Kandai Ueda will play the role of Illumi Zoldyck, Killua’s older brother, and Haruki Kiyama will play the role of Hisoka. The cast also includes Keigo Kitamura, Taizo Shiina, Kouki Azuma, Shogo Tazuru, Yusaku Kawasaki, and Hiroo Otaka. Akira Yamazaki is in charge of the screenplay and direction.
The show’s main theme, written by Tsuyoshi Sakabe, who is also in charge of the music, plays in the background of the trailer. Combined with the powerful music, the video gives the feeling of the beginning of a great adventure.
The show will be performed at the Tennozu Ginga Theater in Tokyo from May 12 to 28, 2023. Costumes will be displayed and a teaser flyer will be distributed at the Jump Festa 2023 to be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on December 17 and 18.
Hunter x Hunter, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1998, tells the story of Gon, the main character who faces a tough test to become a hunter like his father. The live-action stage will feature the Hunter Test Arc, in which Gon meets Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio and faces a grueling test to become a hunter, and the Zoldyck Family Arc, in which Gon and his friends go to rescue Killua, who was taken back to his home by his older brother, Illumi.
