The staff behind the anime adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No.8 manga series unveiled a new teaser and visual, revealing a look at the anime series and Kafka Hibino!
The anime’s new teaser gives us a brief look at Kafka in his monster sweeper outfit he starts off with at the beginning of the series, with shots of the city in ruins before we get a very quick glimpse of himself as Kaiju No.8! The teaser is also backed with a crazy good track, which hopefully is an indicator of what the anime’s soundtrack will be like.
The Kaiju No.8 anime is scheduled to debut sometime in 2024 and is being worked on by Production I.G, with Kaiju designs and works by Studio Khara who worked on the Rebuild of Evangelion Films

Set in modern-day Japan, monsters known as kaiju regularly attack the populace with the Japanese Defense Force tasked with killing them. The protagonist Kafka Hibino made a promise to his childhood friend to fight the invading monsters and join the JDF, but failed horribly countless times and instead committed his life to becoming a cleaner, never being by his best friend Mina Ashiro’s side.
One day during a routine cleanup job, he is accidentally infected with a monster gene, transforming him into a new type of monster-human hybrid, now dubbed Kaiju No.8. With his new found powers, how can Kafka aid the JDF, and what will happen when they find out what he really is?
