Square Enix announced that the free-to-play RPG Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights will be officially ending its service worldwide on February 28, 2023, which is barely 13 months since the game’s release. An offline version will be launched after the game shuts down.
In conjunction with this announcement, the Main Story has been added to Chapter 10. In addition, various adjustments were made to various parts of the gameplay, such as the regular gacha, Erin’s Shop, and the campaign schedule. In-app purchases of Paid Mythril ceased starting today, though if you still have any, they can be used until the service’s end.
▍Offline Version is Confirmed!
The developer has stated that an offline version of the game where players can look back on various characters and stories after the service ends will be made available shortly after the service’s shutdown. Details will be announced in-game and on the official website at a later date.
▍Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights Shop Updates
All items currently available at Erin’s Shop that were previously limited with Paid Mythril will now also be available for purchase with Free Mythril, with the exception of the Bravely Pass Premium. Items will also be added on an irregular basis, and those will also be purchasable using Free Mythril as well.
However, you cannot purchase the Bravely Pass Premium from January 1, 2023, and onwards.
▍Paid Mythril Refunds
Unused paid in-game currency (such as Paid Mythril) will be refunded after the service ends, in accordance with Article 20, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Japanese Settlement of Funds law.
Details regarding refunds will be announced on the official website at a later date. It is recommended to keep the application installed so you can still verify your data before the game shuts down.
