Level-5 announced Professor Layton and The New World of Steam, a new installment in the Professor Layton series during the Nintendo Direct showcase held on February 8.
The teaser trailer revealed shows a city full of steam engines and the legendary detective along with the phrase: “A new mystery will begin”. No further information was revealed and little is known about the new game, which will be released globally for Nintendo’s console on a date yet to be announced.

Professor Layton is a puzzle and adventure video game series and multimedia franchise created by Level-5. The first three games follow the adventures of Hershel Layton and his apprentice Luke Triton as they solve mysterious cases.
The following three games and the movie are set chronologically in the past, focusing on how Layton and Luke met and their first adventures. Later installments follow the adventures of Layton’s children and their allies as they follow in their father’s footsteps.
