The Idolmaster series is getting a new arcade rhythm game, called The Idolmaster Tours in Japan!
The new rhythm game received a new trailer calling back to the original arcade machine that was first released way back in 2005. This new game is a rhythm title developed by Bandai Namco and features a unique control scheme using multiple sliders and buttons similar to Sound Voltex. The game will accept AIME cards and the machine can also print out cards for the various idols you can collect, with a card reader on the side to scan the characters you want to use.
The game will feature idols from all 5 series of idolmaster, including the original, Cinderella Girls, Million Live, Side M, and even Shiny Colors! This new arcade rhythm game is still currently in the works but will be released in Japan first with location tests throughout the country.
The Idolmaster Tours is set to begin its test in early Summer 2023.
▍About The Idolmaster Tours
Far back before the series became the giant that it is, The Idolmaster was first released as an arcade game in Japan, featuring a touch-screen interface and letting you train the idols that would become a mainstay today, including Haruka Amami, Yukiho Hagiwara, Chihaya, and so many more from 765 productions.
Now, the series returns to the arcade, with Idolmaster Tours, a brand-new rhythm game
.Featuring sliders, buttons, and even a screenshot button, the game is primarily a rhythm game where you can take your favorite idols to the stage, helping them dance, sing, and perform your favorite songs from throughout the series!
The game will feature all characters from the series, with songs and voice acting from everyone! During gameplay you’ll be able to unlock these characters by playing their associated stages and rolling the gacha. This gacha will then print out physical cards for your character, which can then be scanned at the same arcade machine so you can keep your progress and characters!
Different cards feature the girls in new outfits and rarities, so not only can these cards be used in-game, but you can trade them with other players!
